Awesome book bundle to help trans kids!

Donate $25 or more to help trans kids and receive 13 books

In response to an unprecedented attack on the healthcare of children in the state of Texas, authors across North America have banded together to raise funds for Happily Ever Afters for Trans Kids, a queer-led initiative focusing on protecting the rights of trans youth.

The first charity chosen by the group is Transgender Education Network Of Texas, which is a trans and mostly BIPOC-led, trans-focused 501(c)3 dedicated to furthering gender equality in Texas through education, advocacy, and empowerment. Since 2021, they have also offered direct emergency relief funds to trans, nonbinary, and intersex Texans.

On February 22, Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to investigate families providing gender-affirming care to their children. While it is not clear that Abbott’s order is legal under Texas law, the state reports that investigations have already begun, and the emotional and financial toll such investigations will have on families is significant no matter what decisions are made at the judicial level, or what the long-term effects of the policy may be.

“The AMA opposes the dangerous intrusion of government into the practice of medicine and the criminalization of health care decision-making,” AMA Board Member Michael Suk, MD, JD, MPH, MBA said in a statement in June 2021. “Gender-affirming care is medically-necessary, evidence-based care that improves the physical and mental health of transgender and gender-diverse people.”

I have contributed Liminal Hearts to support the initiative. This is a contemporary fantasy novel featuring LGBTQ characters, along with unicorns, faeries, and lake monsters, set in Vermont.

This bundle includes some of my favorite authors, and I’m honored to be a part of it. 100% of the proceeds go to TENT! Trans kids need our help, and it’s a need that isn’t going away anytime soon.
